First edition of this interesting outline of the history of economic science by the jurist and philosopher Schreber (1708-1777), presented as his inaugural lecture as professor of economics, politics and philosophy at the University of Leipzig.

Schreber's historical overview encompasses, inter alia, Aristotle, Columella, Petrus de Crescentiis, Petrarch, Luther, Erasmus, and Francis Bacon, as well as the German cameralists Simon Gasser, Justus Dithmar, Carl Furstenau, and Georg Zincke.

OCLC finds only one copy in the US (University of Pennsylvania) and two in the UK (Cambridge and Oxford).
