First and only edition of this posthumous memoir of an exemplarily pious girl in Massachusetts, Julia Sophia Davis.

The life of Julia Sophia Davis, who died aged eleven in 1833, is used as an example of juvenile piety by the pastor and pedagogue John Stevens Cabot Abbott (1805–1877). This is among his earliest works, many of which followed a similar theme; the best-known is perhaps The Mother at Home. The text includes a testimonial from Davis’s parents, a day-by-day account of her final month, and many examples of her great serenity.
