A seemingly unrecorded issue of this decree governing tariffs on paper and cardboard in Louis XV’s France, with no imprint but with the colophon ‘fait à Besançon le 18 avril 1772, signé, Lacoré’. 

Intended to clarify points of confusion regarding existing tariffs on paper and cardboard, this interesting Arrest covers, inter alia, blank paper, prints on single and multiple sheets, paper printed with flowers or small designs, flock paper, painted paper, Chinese paper, sandpaper, chessboards, and paper for envelopes.  It also describes duties for different sizes of paper, such as petit royal and grand-messel. 

This issue is signed at the end by Charles-André de Lacoré (1720–1784), who served as intendant of Besançon, in eastern France, from 1761 to 1784. 

OCLC and CCfr record only quarto editions printed at Paris and Lille in 1771, and at Aix in 1773.
