[PASSAU.]
Ursprung der Wallfahrt Maria Hilf bei Passau. [Passau?] 1845.
16mo, pp. 8; woodcut Virgin and Child to title; some light spotting, but a very good copy; folded and cut as issued.
First and only edition, very rare, of this history of the Marian pilgrimage church outside Passau, founded in 1610.
The work, no doubt printed for visiting pilgrims, ends with a supposed folk song about the Gnadenbild at Mariahilf, itself reproduced in a charming woodcut on the title with the half-Germanised caption ‘Maria Matter Gratiæ’.
OCLC finds a single copy, at Eichstatt. No copies traced in the UK or US.
